Formula Wan is a browser based Management game where you get to manage your own "Formula Wan" team.

It's not only the strategy behind the game that makes it the most addictive browser based game for me, but also the friendly community that has formed around it in the forums, with many people willing to help out if needed.

There is the possibility of purchasing Bolts (The currency that is used in the game) to help you on your way to building the best F1 team that you can possibly build, but you can also become a "Shoestring Team" by not buying any bolts.

The "Shoestring" teams will be much slower to advance than the bolt buying teams, but they have the added benefit of saying
"I did it with my management skills not with my wallet."

Buying bolts can give your team a better start, but if the bolts are not spent wisely then it will be a waste of money and or bolts.

Bad decisions when buying parts/cars/buildings can impact your team's advancement/performance (More expensive is NOT always better).

If you don't know something to do with the game, there is always the option to visit the forum, read and do a search on the forum and see if anyone has posted already asking the same sort of questions that you want answered, IF you can't find an answer to your questions then a post in the forum will usually result in help being offered, BUT remember to search FIRST, as people are less likely to help if it appears that you want them to hand you all the information without any effort on your part (especially if the answers can be found in the "Sticky threads" at the top of the forum pages).

When first starting out, there are many strategies to try, but the one that I have found to be most successful so far (at least for me) is the following:

Using the initial 4,000 bolts that you start the game with,

Hire a driver(2,000 bolts)
Buy a car (1,000 bolts)
Hire a mechanic (1,000) to repair the car after races(and to fit parts bought at the shops with race winnings)

I then start doing Championship races (A Championship runs for 1 week, from Monday till Sunday)
I start saving bolts gained by doing championship races (minimum of 50 bolts winnings per race) until I can afford some small parts to upgrade my car using a mechanics daily action point (instead of fixing the car) to fit the parts , Or If the car is badly damaged, I'll use the mechanic to fix the car, and use my driver's AP to fit the new parts (meaning my driver can't race that day)
Then I can start saving again to enable me to hire a 2nd mechanic which allows me to lubricate my car as well as repair it and give a potential edge over someone that does not have the lubrication bonus

League races can be a quicker way to get your drivers to higher Leagues, as it only takes the same number of wins as the current League that your driver is in to go up to the next League
i.e. If your driver is in League 3 , then it will take 3 League race wins to go up to League 4(which takes effect immediately.)

Championship races will allow you to build your team up easier while in the lower Leagues, you still require the same amount of League Wins to go up a League, but Championship wins are counted as 1/2 of a League win (2 Championship wins is equal to 1 League race win)
i.e. If your driver is in League 3 , then it will take 6 Championship wins to go up to League 4 (Championship wins are not added up until after the Championship has finished).)

The Standard Shop has parts for when you are just starting out, some parts starting as low as 10 bolts (they won't improve your car a lot, but can be give you enough of an edge over the other opponents if they have no tuning parts fitted, and allow you to place higher in the field potentially earning more bolts.

The Pally Max store has the best parts, but most are quite expensive(the most expensive part I've seen in Pally Max store was worth over 105,000 bolts, and can go higher)

Hope to see you all on the track soon
